Changing The Future of Medicine

Bingham Healthcare is changing the future of medicine in the region with integrated high quality care. Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted Technology provides you with a presonalized surgical plan based on your unique anatomy

3D CT Scan

It all begins with a CT scan of your knee joint that is used to generate a 3D virtual model of your unique anatomy. This virtual model is loaded into the Mako System software and is used by your surgeon to create your personalized pre-operative plan.

Haptic boundary

In the operating room, your surgeon will use the Mako System to assist in performing your surgery based on your personalized pre-operative plan. When the surgeon prepares the bone for the implant, the surgeon guides the robotic-arm within the pre-defined area and the Mako System helps the surgeon stay within the planned boundaries that were defined when the personalized pre-operative plan was created.

Same-Day Surgery

After surgery, your surgeon, nurses, and physical therapists will set goals with you to get you back on the move. They will closely monitor your condition and progress. Your surgeon may review a post-perative X-ray of your new knee or hip with you. Many patients go home the same day or the day after surgery.

Dr. Pearson brings to South-Eastern Idaho many state-of-the-art procedures such as hip arthroscopy and other new and innovative techniques in shoulder and knee surgery. Such procedures help patients continue their active lifestyles and preserve the patient’s native anatomy and function, promoting overall joint health. In addition to treating on-the-field injuries that keep athletes sidelined, he also treats the nagging injuries and pain many people suffer from simply living life.

Dr. Richardson’s passion for medicine was born out of his appreciation for the complexity of the human body and his desire to work with and around people. “I always wanted to have a job where I could interact on a daily basis with all sorts of people,” he says. “I like to do things with my hands; the traditional medical approach of giving a pill and waiting a month to see if anything happens didn’t appeal to me, which is why I enjoy orthopedics so much. You almost instantly get to see the fruits of your labors.”
