Physician Bio

We are pleased to introduce you to Dr. Travis R. Adams, PhD, ABPP. Dr. Adams is a Harvard-trained, licensed and board-certified clinical psychologist who provides continuing and comprehensive mental and behavioral care for children, adolescents, and adults of all ages.

As one of only three board-certified child and adolescent psychologists in the state of Idaho, he is uniquely qualified to provide comprehensive psychological care to a pediatric population.  He also has extensive experience working with couples, families, and military veterans. He specializes in the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and grief and addictions. He also works with patients on relationship matters to include intimacy and relationship enhancement, as well as anyone who wants to take positive steps to improve their overall health.

Dr. Adams was born and raised in Shelley, Idaho, and spent 20 years of his professional career admirably working as an active duty clinical psychologist in the United States Air Force, helping military members and their families. He is an accepting and caring person who wants to help individuals and families. He knows change can be difficult, but feels privileged to witness and support those who want to improve their lives.

When Dr. Adams is not practicing psychology, he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and backpacking in our beautiful mountains, fishing, running, traveling, and being a sports enthusiast. He loves eastern Idaho and is grateful to be back home.

Professional Credentials

  • Earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University
  • Awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from Indiana State University and completed his clinical residency at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Medical Center
  • Completed a pediatric psychology fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School
