About Bingham Healthcare Dialysis

Dialysis Services

Dialysis services are offered in Blackfoot. More than 26 million American adults have kidney disease and most don’t know it. Kidney disease is the ninth leading cause of death in the United States. During end-stage renal disease, the kidneys stop working and an individual must begin dialysis treatments three times per week, just to stay alive.  What is Dialysis?

  • Dialysis is a life sustaining clinical purification of the blood as a substitute for the normal function of the kidney.
  • Dialysis removes waste to prevent build up in the body, keeps a safe level of chemicals such as potassium and sodium, and helps to control blood pressure.
  • Dialysis is needed at the end stage of kidney failure when 85-90 percent of kidney function has been lost.
  • There are two different types of dialysis: hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
