2022 Servants Heart of the Year Award Winner

For the past year, we’ve had the privilege of honoring three Bingham Healthcare team members with the Servant’s Heart Award each quarter. This goes to employees, physicians, and volunteers who are nominated by their peers for going above and beyond to deliver not only caring and compassionate care—but extraordinary care—that positively impacts our patients in a variety of ways.

However, every year we like to recognize one employee who consistently exemplifies what it means to have a Servant’s Heart. In honor of one employee who has been nominated more times than anyone else by her peers, and repeatedly praised by patients, we are delighted to announce that BETTY CARPENTER, CNA in our Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (SNRC), is the recipient of the 2022 Servant’s Heart of the Year award. Betty has been a Bingham employee since 2017, and we are pleased to give this award to her in honor of her dedication to our patients and employees.

We are indebted to Betty for her unwavering commitment to our patients and employees. She is truly an extraordinary human being whose work and countless acts of kindness have been fundamental in embodying compassionate and loving care at Bingham Healthcare. We greatly appreciate the tremendous joy and inspiration Betty brings to our patients and employees on a daily basis.”

Here are some of the stories people have shared about Betty:

“Betty is always willing to help all patients of the SNRC. She is known to use her own money for patient clothing, helps with all activities, and helps with costumes for Halloween to making interactive activities for the patient. Also, she is always willing to help nurses and providers in any way she can.”

“Betty is selfless and takes care of resident’s in the SNRC, and treats them as her own family. She’s always available for residents needs and spoils them with her attention and time. She shells out her own money, energy, and time to make them feel special and loved. A few examples are: She trims and colors resident’s hair with their permission; makes Halloween costumes for them on her days off; and, comes to the workplace and volunteers on special occasion to ensure residents look good and presentable.

“Very recently, Betty came to work (on her day off) to help one of sweet residents get ready for her wedding. She did her hair and make-up and wheeled her down the “aisle.” It just made the resident and this day feel beautiful. Betty is beautiful, and she is always serving. With a heart of gold, she is very deserving of this award.”

“We are indebted to Betty for her unwavering commitment to our patients and employees,” said Jake Erickson, CEO. “She is truly an extraordinary human being whose work and countless acts of kindness have been fundamental in embodying compassionate and loving care at Bingham Healthcare.
